On July 10, 2016 John Bowers (co-pilot George Bower's nephew) and Chad Berry, John's son-in-law, hiked Bald Eagle Mountain to visit the crash site. This was the second time a family member of George Bowers visited the site. John vividly remembers his uncle, and flying in his small Piper Cub airplane prior to the crash. John also recalled the events surrounding this crash and the death of his uncle George. Last year my cousin Mark and I had the honor of hiking with Linda Bowers.
