Louis was treated for severe burns to his face, hands, and wrists at the Divine Providence hospital in Williamsport, Pa. Louis spent the entire month of December 1959 and the early part of 1960 in the hospital. He was transferred to a hospital in Philadelphia in April 1960 for further treatment to his burns.
